Biodiversity4all

LIFE VIDALIA is a partner of the Citizen Science platform Biodiversiy4all, a tool that allows you to photograph, georeference and identify species, using your mobile phone. Start using the mobile application Biodiversity4all now, record your observations and learn even more about the biodiversity of the Azores.

 


A. How to Create Your Account

1.  Access the website of Biodiversity4all

2. Create your account by setting a username, e-mail address and password. Alternatively, you can sign in with your Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Google, Yahoo or Soundcloud account.

B. How to install the mobile application and start registering your observations

 

Android Devices

1. Download the iNaturalist app from  Google Play

2. Login with the credentials you used to create your account

3. Open the application and, in options, click on Settings –> iNaturalist Network and select  Biodiversity4All. After this step, the application will be called BioDiversity4All.

4. In order for your observations to be automatically geo located, you must turn on the GPS of your device.

5. To add an observation click on the icon “+”.

6. Choose the Take Photo option to take a photo of the species and click on the check symbol to confirm the observation.

7. In the details, if you know, enter the species name in the What did you see? field. If you do not know, you do not need to fill in or you may consider one of the suggestions that are automatically proposed.

8. If GPS is turned on, the location will appear automatically. If it does not appear click on Location, select Edit Location and search for the location on the map and confirm.


iOS Devices

1. Download the iNaturalist app from the App Store.

2. Login with the credentials you used to create your account

3. Open the application and click on Me. In Settings –> iNaturalist Network, select the BioDiversity4All network and confirm.

4. To add an observation click on the Observe icon and take a photograph of the species. To confirm click Next.

5. In the details, if you know, enter the species name in the What did you see? field. If you do not know, you do not need to fill in or you may consider one of the suggestions that are automatically proposed.

6. If GPS is on, the location will appear automatically. If it does not appear, click on Location and search for the location on the map. Confirm by clicking
save.
